As our guest and temporary colleague you will have the opportunity to experience what it is really like to be a Keeper at Flamingo Land Zoo, going behind the scenes to experience close contact with our exotic animals.

The keeping of animals is not for the faint hearted, it means getting your hands dirty and working alongside our zoo keeping staff. Activities may include enclosure maintenance which means mucking out the animal enclosures and preparing fresh bedding, feeding the animals, preparing enrichment devices, preparing feeds, collecting browse for the Giraffes. Other duties also undertaken by the keepers are cleaning enclosures and washing down walls.

With the above in mind it is important to come suitably dressed for the work. Keeper for the day starts at 9.30am and will finish at 3.30pm, with the rest of the day to explore the zoo at your leisure. An early start you might say, but we would not want you to miss out on the best jobs of the day!

Being a Zoo Keeper for the day is very popular and we strongly recommend booking well in advance to avoid disappointment! The price from January 2009 is £150.00 per person. Available for all people ages 8 or above. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
