After almost 24 months of dedicated research, design, planning and building, July 2010 saw Flamingo Land’s Humboldt Penguins making a welcome return to public life. Their new home, Penguin Coast, is now the biggest and best enclosure of its type in the UK, providing one of the most compatible environments for penguins living outside the wild. Scheduled for completion in early 2011, the next phase of this development will see the addition of a stunning waterfall and an observation platform.
With our South American guests now enjoying all the features of their new residence, Flamingo Land’s Penguin Encounter gives you the chance for a private, up close view. So, join the zoo’s dedicated penguin keeper for a chance to meet and feed these ever-popular aquatic birds.
