Description

We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our existing team at Flamingo Land.  In this role, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the electrical systems of the theme park rides and equipment and will be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.  This includes diagnosing and resolving electrical faults on systems incorporating pneumatic and hydraulic elements, with the ultimate goal of improving asset reliability and performance. This hands-on role requires working at height (up to 60 meters) and completing all assigned tasks to a high standard and within set deadlines.   Responsibilities Perform planned and reactive maintenance on electrical installations for theme park rides and attractions.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in ride control systems, including those involving water pumping systems.
  • Respond to electrical issues across systems with pneumatic and hydraulic components.
  • Supervise contractors and specialist engineers, including those from ride manufacturers and hydraulic/pneumatic system providers.
  • Ensure all maintenance activity is documented using a Toughbook/tablet in accordance with workflow procedures.
  • Identify and report any potential hazards or areas for improvement to engineering management.
  • Complete risk assessments and create method statements for safe maintenance practices.
  • Specify parts and equipment needed for day-to-day maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain effective relationships with colleagues, suppliers and contractors while prioritising workload efficiently.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Working Hours
  • April-October: 5-day work week to include one weekend day. November- March: Monday-Friday
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Recognised Electrical Craft/Technician Apprenticeship.
  • One of the following or equivalent: City & Guilds / ONC / BTEC / NVQ / HNC / HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or EngTech status.
  • Proven experience as a time-served industrial electrician.
  • Proficient in: ○ Safe isolation in line with current IET regulations. ○ Fault finding on control circuits (up to PLC level). ○ Fault diagnosis on 3-phase systems, motors, starters and rotating equipment. ○ LV control circuit troubleshooting.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
  • IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382-18).
  • HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • IPAF Certification.
  • City & Guilds 2391-52 (Inspection & Testing).
  • Knowledge and/or experience in: ○ Pneumatic and hydraulic systems. ○ Maintenance of UPS systems. ○ Soft start and variable speed drives. ○ Actuated valves. ○ Industrial communication protocols.
