Set in 375 acres of picturesque North Yorkshire countryside, Flamingo Land Resort creates a truly unforgettable experience for guests of all ages. Our Plant Room Operators ensure that the quality of water is kept to a high standard on our main rides and attractions. We pride ourselves in keeping the quality of water up to swimming pool standards so as to ensure our Guests are not exposed to waterborne diseases. This role will include looking after the Plant Rooms for the following Rides and Attractions:
  • Splash Battle
  • Flip Flop
  • Cliffhanger Waterfall
  • Plaza Pirate Ship
In this role you would be responsible for:
  • Taking Regular water readings to check chemical levels (2 hourly check)
  • Recording accurate data throughout the day and reporting to Operations
  • Topping up chemicals (sodium hypochlorite 25kg barrels, sodium bisulphate 25kg Bags) using hand pump
  • Checking the operation of all dosing units
  • Checking the operation of all filters and filter pumps
  • Ensuring the plant rooms are kept clean and tidy at all times
  • Ensuring the lakes are kept free of debris
  • Reporting chemical stock levels to your line manager
Persons Specification: The ideal candidate will have either previous Plant Room experience or will have worked with bulk chemicals.  A Fork lift licence or experience is preferable however training can be given (Full driving licence essential). Full Training will be given, PPE will be provided. Hours: Most of our seasonal roles are available on a full time and part time basis. Typically a full time role is up to 40 hours a week, our part time roles are often 16 to 24 hours a week in term times increasing during university, college and school holidays. Our busiest trading days are weekends, holidays and bank holidays therefore it is to be expected we will need our Team to be available to ensure our Guests have the experience they deserve. Transport: We provide on site free parking.  There are good local bus links into Malton, York, Pickering & Thornton Dale provided by Coastliner. The Tees Valley bus will have stops at Stockton, Middlesbrough, Grangetown, Redcar, Saltburn, Brotton, Skelton & Guisborough. Accommodation: There is a good range of local accommodation providers within our immediate vicinity.  Flamingo Land does not provide any onsite staff accommodation. Benefits:

You will be contacted by our friendly Recruitment Team who will conduct an initial telephone chat with you and if successful, you will be invited to attend a face to face interview with one of our Department Managers. Interviews are typically 30 minutes and you will be asked a few competency based questions. If all goes well, you will join us  for induction, where we will get you Resort Ready!  Induction days are fun filled, full of facts about the Resort and will prepare you to work at the Resort.
